AUSTIN, TX-Presidium Group of Dallas plans to build a 300-unit apartment complex in Southeast Austin that will feature advanced green technologies.
The developer hopes to begin construction in the fall on a 9-acre site near East Riverside Drive and Wickersham Lane, according to local media reports. Some retail and restaurants might be included, according to the Austin American-Statesman.
Presidium Group owns and manages 7,000 apartments in Texas, including three complexes in Austin. The new project will be constructed for green operation, company officials said in a statement quoted by the paper.
“Presidium has implemented numerous solutions across our portfolio that have significantly reduced utility consumption at our assets, including rainwater collection systems, low-emissivity windows, aerating devices, solar photovoltaic systems, solar thermal systems, wind turbines and natural gas turbines,” said CEO Cross Moceri. “We are excited for the prospect of bringing together all of these different clean energy technologies in a single new development, which we believe will serve as the new standard for green building in Texas.”
