HOUSTON-Demolition work has commenced on the former SkyBar building at 3400 Montrose here in order to make way for an apartment tower.
Locally-based Hanover Co. has begun the demolition process and intends to begin construction on a 330-unit, 30-story apartment tower at the site in the late summer, according to the Houston Business Journal.
David Ott, development partner at Hanover, says the demolition process, which will not involve imploding the structure, will be completed by mid-summer. Leasing for units at the tower building is expected to begin in the late summer of 2016.
Hanover is building another high-rise property in Houston, Hanover Post Oak in the Uptown area. Leasing is beginning on that project in the fall of this year. See story in the Houston Business Journal.
