SOUTHFIELD, MI-Global automotive supply firm Denso International America Inc. says it will be expanding its North American headquarters here.
Denso has purchased a 81,000-square-foot building adjacent to its campus near Telegraph Road and Civic Center Drive in Southfield. The company announced the $10-million headquarters expansion at a news conference at the North American International Auto Show on Tuesday.
Terry Helgesen, senior vice president of industry operations for Denso, said the new building will include research and development labs and testing of electric vehicle, direct injection, alternators, HVAC, and infotainment and connectivity components, according to Crain's Detroit Business.
In 2013, Denso announced a $750-million investment in the U.S, including 1,200 new jobs over a four-year period. See story in Crain's Detroit Business.
