MEMPHIS-Southland Park Gaming & Racing says it will break ground later this month on a project to expand its gaming and hospitality offerings at the West Memphis-based casino facility.
The company plans to comence constructoin on Jan. 27 on the $37.4-million expansion initiative that will involve the construction of a new 41,000-square-foot building that will include up to 500 new gaming machines, a restaurant and sports bar, according to the Memphis Business Journal. Other improvements are also planned. Work on the venture is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
“Our business keeps growing, so we want to continue the expansion and transformation of Southland Park into the unquestioned premiere gaming destination in the Mid-South,” states Troy Keeping, Southland Park's president and general manager. “This project will provide our guests with more space and allow us to add more of the best gaming machines on the market and another popular restaurant and entertainment spot within our complex.” See story in the Memphis Business Journal.
