NEW YORK CITY-Deputy Brooklyn Borough President Diane Reyna says she wants to have the former Pfizer property in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn be declared part of an “Industrial Business Zone.”
Reyna is looking to have the Pfizer complex receive the designation that provides tax breaks and other assistance to building owners that host industrial tenants, according to The Real Deal. The property would thus retain its former industrial use if the designation is approved.
The former City Councilwoman, who serves as deputy to newly elected Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams, charges that residential development in industrial areas is displacing manufacturing firms and reducing employment in the borough. See story in The Real Deal.
