WASHINGTON, DC-Hines Interests, the developer of the $1-billion CityCenter project here, has announced that negotiations to bring an Apple store to the project have ended.
The Houston-based development firm says that Apple has pulled out of talks to lease space at the massive mixed-use downtown project. Construction work on the development is nearly complete. Howard Riker, managing director at Hines, confirmed that Apple had withdrawn from negotiations with his firm, according to the Washington Post.
Apple currently has one D.C. retail store, in Georgetown. It also has six locations in Northern Virginia and three in the suburbs of Maryland. See story in the Washington Post.
