BRIDGEWATER, NJ-Ashland Inc. has opened a new office and laboratory facility at the former Sanofi U.S. research complex here
The chemical company will occupy 200,000 square feet of space at the complex located on Route 202/206. The deal was announced on Friday by state and company officials at a ceremony marking the opening of the facility that will house 200 Ashland workers.
In March 2013, after considering sites in neighboring states, Ashland Specialty Ingredients announced that it would stay in New Jersey and relocate the majority of its 300 employees from its Wayne location to the new Bridgewater campus.
“We appreciate the tremendous support shown by Lt. Governor Guadagno and the administration as Ashland evaluated potential sites for the relocation,” said Luis Fernandez-Moreno, president of Ashland Specialty Ingredients. “The Bridgewater site is close to many of our largest customers, especially in the pharmaceutical and personal care markets. Throughout the relocation process, the state of New Jersey has demonstrated its sincere commitment to working with Ashland as we position our business for future growth."
