CHICAGO-Locally-based developer Smithfield Properties LLC has secured a $55-million construction loan for its planned 33-story rental apartment tower here.
Minneapolis-based U.S. Bank N.A. is providing the construction financing for the project, according to Crain's Chicago Business. Smithfield intends to marshal the funds for its 295-unit development to be built at the corner of Chicago Avenue and LaSalle Street,
Smithfield has retained a team of Palo Alto, CA-based Berkelhamer Architects and Antunovich Associates of Chicago to design the apartment tower. Smithfield previously developed the 324-unit Sono East apartment project in the city. See story in Crain's Chicago Business.
