MAHWAH, NJ-Crossroads Developers, the owner of the controversial The Crossroads Town Center project here, scored a victory with the Mahwah Planning Board's approval of its preliminary site plan.
The board voted 7-3 in favor of the plan that calls for the construction of a 600,000-square-foot retail center on 140 acres at the International Crossroads. A motion to deny the application failed prior to the vote to approve the preliminary site plan, according to The Record.
The north side of the development between Sharp Electronics Corp.'s offices and the existing Sheraton tower will include 209,000 square feet of boutiques and restaurants. A 10-screen movie theater would be near the Sheraton. The south side of the development will have two big-box stores totaling 300,000 square feet and a 15,000-square-foot building.
