WASHINGTON, DC-Construction was scheduled to begin today on the $6.5-million Vida Fitness club at the Twelve12 development located at the Capitol Riverfront.
Vida Fitness and affiliates Penthouse Pool & Lounge, Aura Spa and Bang Salon, will occupy 30,000 square foot of retail space at the development, according to the Washington Business Journal.
The facility at 1212 Fourth St. SE will open in phases later this year. The club will join a Harris Teeter grocery store, and the restaurant TaKorean at the property.
Vida owner David von Storch hopes to open the Penthouse Pool & Lounge in July, the health club in August, and the salon and spa in October. Vida plans to open two more locations by 2017. The health club is part von Storch's Urban Adventures Cos. Inc., which also owns Capitol City Brewing Co. in downtown D.C. and Arlington. See story in the Washington Business Journal.
