BALTIMORE-Fueled by a sharp increase in gaming business at Maryland Live, state casino revenue increased 49% during the month of January.
The latest casino revenue figures released by the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency reported that Maryland Live, the state's largest casino, posted $53.7 million in revenue in January, a 49% hike from the same month a year earlier. Maryland Live is based in Hanover. Hollywood Casino Perryville brought in $6.3 million in revenue, a 16% increase from January 2013, according to the Baltimore Business Journal.
Overall, the state's four casinos generated $66.2 million in business last month, significantly higher than the $44.3 million posted 12 months earlier. See story in the Baltimore Business Journal.
