PHILADELPHIA-The parent company of Nabisco has announced it will shutter a Philadelphia bakery and shift production to facilities in Fair Lawn, NJ and Richmond, VA.

Mondelez International, based in Deerfield, IL, says the Philadelphia bakery will close by 2015. The closure is part of a plan to restructure its supply chain and cut costs, according to the Associated Press.

Approximately 350 workers will be affected by the closure. The Philadelphia facility bakes Nabisco brand cookies and crackers.

The company stated it intends to make most of its cookies and crackers at its bakeries in Fair Lawn and Richmond and expects to invest more than $130 million in those two bakeries. See story in the Star Ledger.
