HOUSTON—A request for a restraining order to stop work on a 17-story office tower in the River Oaks area has been dismissed by a local judge.
The Houston Business Journal says developer Hines prevailed in a hearing last week when Harris County Judge Elaine Palmer denied a temporary restraining order petition from area residents who claimed the development would cause a hardship.
The area is currently home to a 37-story residential tower and a 13-story office building. The report indicates that the lawsuit cites private nuisances, such as the height of the building, as well as public nuisances, such as additional traffic in the area. Hines reportedly filed an answer to the complaint, stating that the project satisfies all laws, codes, and regulations.
