LOS ANGELES—Bernards has promoted four former VPs to the position of SVP, positioning the company for future growth. The promoted group consists of Ron Bernards, promoted to SVP of field operations, scheduling, safety and quality assurance; Andy Buerk, promoted to SVP of estimating; Dave Cavecche, promoted to compliance, LEAN and management of the company's Irvine office; and Jeff M. Bernards, promoted to SVP of building information modeling and project administration.

The four now SVPs have made impressive contributions to the company. Ron Bernards oversees $1.6 billion of projects under construction. Buerk has managed more the $500 million in projects in both Los Angeles and Orange County. Cavecche oversees a significant portion of the company's portfolio, including the $110 million One Santa Fe project in Downtown Los Angeles' arts district and the $130 million Lincoln Place Apartments. Jeff Bernards, who had formerly been VP of operations, is additionally a project executive, overseeing large multifamily and higher education developments, including the $98-million Wilshire La Brea property and the $67-million Playa Del Oro West.
These promotions are part of Bernards' ongoing expansion and growth. Bernards grew its team by 10% in 2013 and plans to continue to grow the team this year as well. The company is currently developing a third of the multifamily projects under construction in Los Angeles County.
