COLLEGE PARK, MD-The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, Castle Properties and Prince George's County have agreed to parcel together approximately nine acres near the College Park Metro station for an open solicitation for development.
The three property owners released on Thursday a joint request for application (RFA) to redevelop the lots for possible residential, retail and office use, according to the Washington Business Journal.
The RFA suggests the need for 300 to 600 market-rate live/work residential units, 115,000 to 260,000 square feet of office space, 32,000 to 40,000 square feet of retail and restaurants and a 140- to 180-room limited service extended-stay hotel with conference meeting space.
The Metro, while a participant in the joint RFA, says it is “more interested in proposals from applicants looking to buy" its site. See story in the Washington Business Journal.
