WASHINGTON, DC—A host of dignitaries, including DC Mayor Vincent Gray, are expected to be on hand later today for the groundbreaking of the $1.5-billion The Wharf project.
The project to be developed by PN Hoffman and Madison Marquette will involve a total of 3.2 million square feet of mixed-use space on the Southwest waterfront.
The first phase, which will take about three years to complete, is expected to cost approximately $775 million, according to the Washington Business Journal.
The project will include the construction of two hotels, more than 600 apartments, 290 condominiums, an 11-story office building, 175,000 square feet of retail, as well as an entertainment venue, multiple parks and piers. See story in the Washington Business Journal.
