BETHESDA, MD—Douglas Development, which recently purchased the Pines of Rome restaurant property here, says it intends to build a mixed-use development at the property.

Douglas Jemal, president of the Washington, DC-based development firm, says the plan for now is to eventually build a multi-story building at the Pines of Rome parcel and the adjoining Tommy Joe's Restaurant property, which is also owned by Douglas. Jemal notes the two properties would be developed together and would likely involve a mix of residential and retail, according to Bethesda Magazine.

Douglas Development recently acquired the Pines of Rome property for approximately $6.9 million. Jemal says there is no timeline on when it will move forward with a development plan for the property, See story in Bethesda Magazine.
