NEW YORK CITY—Cushman & Wakefield reports that it has been retained by RXR Realty as the retail agent for 75 Rockefeller Plaza. The assignment follows the hiring of C&W last year as the leasing agent for the office space in the iconic tower.

RXR Realty plans to commence construction on a major renovation and capital improvement program at 75 Rockefeller Plaza in August and have the building ready for occupancy in the fall of 2015. Once the renovations are completed, in addition to the available office space at the property, the renovated 620,000 square-foot building will feature approximately 45,000 square feet of retail space on the ground and lower levels.

C&W Vice Chairman Gene Spiegelman and Senior Director Michael O'Neill will serve as retail agent for the building and will collaborate with Cushman & Wakefield's office leasing team that includes Bruce Mosler, chairman of global brokerage; Tara Stacom, executive vice chairman and Mikael Nahmias, senior managing director.

“The retail at 75 Rock is an unbelievable opportunity to establish a world-class northern anchor to Rockefeller Center,” Spiegelman says. “In addition, the high visibility of the space in Rockefeller Center, which attracts millions of visitors each year, is unique in that this single location can provide branding and showcasing for a retailer on an international level. The combination of prestige and prominence is unparalleled.”

O'Neill adds that the retail space can be broken up to accommodate multiple users or leased to one retailer to be used as a flagship location. “The block-through space, which has excellent ceiling heights on each level and offers tremendous branding on Rock Center and W 52nd Street, will expand the reach of Rockefeller Center north and enhance the already-iconic destination,” O'Neill says.
