WASHINGTON, DC—Some of the area's largest development firms have shown interest in building residential, office and mixed-use projects at four Metro stations here.
Metro released five requests for proposals in November or development projects at its Brookland, Morgan Boulevard, Fort Totten, Grosvenor-Strathmore and the Navy Yard Chiller stations. A total of seven development proposals were received in connection with four stations. No bids were received on the Fort Totten solicitations. Bids were due on March 7 on four Metro stations, while the Brookland bids were extended until early April, according to the Washington Business Journal.
Among the firms that submitted bids included MRP Realty, Trammell Crow, Akridge, Four Points LLC, Streetscape Partners and CAS Riegler. While a host of firms have bid on the 15-acre Grosvenor-Strathmore and Navy Yard Chiller stations, Trammel Crow is the sole bidder on the 41-acre Morgan Boulevard site, proposing a multiphase project with residential, retail and an office component, according to Stan Wall, Metro's director of real estate and station planning.
