WASHINGTON, DC—The Jamba Juice chain is planning to open at least 10 new locations in the Washington, DC area in the next three years.

Professional tennis great Venus Williams owns the Washington, DC-area franchise for the California-based smoothie chain. Jamba Juice opened its fourth location in the region at Federal Plaza in Rockville, MD last week, according to the Washington Post.

“The D.C. area is one of our most critical growth areas for Jamba Juice,” says Jamba Juice President and CEO James D. White. “If you think about the number of folks cycling, jogging, walking around town, it's really a great fit.”

Williams opened the first Jamba Juice in the DC region at Westfield Montgomery Mall in 2011. Since then Jamba Juice locations have opened in Union Station and Dupont Circle. Jamba Juice, founded in 1990, has more than 850 locations throughout the world, including stores in Canada, South Korea and the Philippines. This year it plans to open 50 new stores in the United States and 25 in other global locations. See story in the Washington Post.
