WASHINGTON, DC—Walgreens has signed a lease for 19,000 square feet at Douglas Development's 1155 F St. NW building here.
According to Norman Jemal, principal and senior vice president of Douglas Development, said the drugstore will take over the 5,000-square-foot former Guess apparel store space, along with 14,000 additional square feet at the corner of 12th and F streets NW, according to the Washington Business Journal.
Walgreens will open one of its newer format, flagship locations there that will offer prepared foods, fresh produce and a wider selection of products.
"Walgreens will be very successful in that corner," Jemal says. "It will certainly be a great addition to the neighborhood." The new Walgreens will be similar to the store the retail chain opened in 2013 at Seventh and H streets NW.
Jemal also reports that Potomac River Running has signed a lease for 2,000 square feet at the former Cowgirl Creamery location at 919 F St. NW. The store in expected to open in the next 30 days. See story in the Washington Business Journal.
