IRVINE, CA—The Orange County office of Coldwell Banker Commercial Alliance has hired veteran broker Jim Auther as SVP. Auther has more than 35 years of experience in retail brokerage and development with a focus on landlord and tenant representation.
Auther has represented a number of major development groups including the Irvine Co., Vestar Development, the Fritz Duda Co., Santa Anita Development, Westcor and Donahue Schriber. He has also completed transactions with Macerich, Westfield, General Growth Properties and Simon Development. His retail development work includes more than 100 transactions for prominent clients including Darden Restaurants, Applebee's, BJ's Restaurant and Brewhouse, El Torito, Marie Callender's, Red Robin, Shakey's Pizza Parlor and a variety of major fast-food organizations.
Before joining CBCA, Auther founded Oaks Development Co. and spent 10 years as SVP of the Grubb & Ellis Co. in Newport Beach, 11 years as a partner at Lee & Associates Newport Beach, five years with National Services Co. in Newport Beach and four years with Coldwell Banker Commercial (now CBRE) in the Phoenix and Kansas City markets.

Auther joins another recent hire in the Orange County office. As GlobeSt.com reported in June 2013, has the firm hired Frecia C. Johnson as SVP. Johnson, who brings more than three decades of Southern California regional commercial real estate experience to the firm, provides broker-advisory and investment-sales services to a variety of clients in the Orange County property market.
