DAVIS, CA—Officials here are working to gauge interest in the development of an innovation campus in the city.

The city hopes to spark developer and investor interest in some of the last remaining large parcels in the Davis, which is running out of expansion space for its growing companies. Davis issued a Request for Expressions of Interest last week, according to a local media report from the Sacramento Business Journal. Developers are asked to return a completed package by June 23.

The city asks for some basic information, including potential team members, a statement of qualifications, an overview of financial ability.

The city is taking action because several longtime Davis companies have said they cannot find space to expand in the city because there are few vacant acres ready for development. The call for expressions of interest is for office parks and research and development space only, and no housing.
