BALTIMORE—Kao Corp. will relocate asubsidiaries' corporate headquarters from Hanover, MD to more than14,000 square feet of leased space at the downtown OneCharles Center office building.


The new space totaling 14,486 square feet will be for theKao Salon Division, part of a U.S. subsidiary ofTokyo-based Kao. A total of 70 Kao Salon Division employees willmake the move to the One Charles Center property by mid-summer,according to the Baltimore Business Journal. The operation at thebuilding will include a call center and administrative offices onthe 15th floor of the 22-story office building.


“With the improvements and investments made within Baltimore'sInner Harbor and downtown business districts over the past severalyears, this area emerged as an attractive location for a leadinghealth and beauty company,” Trevor Attenborough,president and general manager of Kao Salon Division, states. “ThisCharles Center location places us in the virtual heart of Baltimorecity and represents the ideal spot as we continue to grow ournational presence and gain market share.”


The building is owned by Artemis PropertiesInc., a real estate company that manages 1 million squarefeet of office space held by Baltimore Orioles owner PeterG. Angelos. See story in the Baltimore Business Journal.
