WASHINGTON, DC—Quadrangle Development Corp. has submitted plans this week that call for the construction of Columbia Place, a $230-million development at Ninth and L Streets NW that will include two Marriott hotels and multifamily housing.

The property, located near the new Marriott Marquis that opened last month, is owned by Marriott International, according to the Washington Business Journal. The project architects are Cooper Carry and TVS Design. Quadrangle, which worked on the 1,175-room Marriott Marquis, is also the developer on the Columbia Place development.

The 12-story, 570,000-square-foot building will feature a 124-room, extended stay Residence Inn by Marriott and a 377-room Courtyard Marriott, which will both front L Street. A 200-unit residential building featuring studios, one- and two-bedroom units, will be located on the western side of the site. The hotel component will be built first, followed by the residential.
