TYSONS CORNER, VA—After acquiring the development site earlierthis month, Charleston, SC-based Greystar intendsto begin construction soon on a 400-unit multifamily high-risehere.


The 34-story Greystar apartment tower, to be called ElanTysons, will also include 6,500 square feet of retail.Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.


Greystar acquired the .8-acre site from a joint venture thatincludes The Georgelas Group LLC. Georgelas tookthat site and a number of others in the area around the Silver LineSpring Hill Metro station through the approval process with FairfaxCounty, according to the Washington Business Journal.


The project is one of seven planned towers Georgelas plans tobuild as part of the 7.8 million-square-foot Spring Hill Stationdevelopment. Greystar previously acquired the site of anotherSpring Hill Station residential tower, with about 404 units, for$24.2 million. See story in the Washington Business Journal.
