SAN JOSE, CA—McCarthy Building Companies,Inc.'s Northern Pacific Division has welcomedNicholas Sandersfeld as director of businessdevelopment in Silicon Valley. With 10 years ofconstruction experience in Santa Clara, Sandersfeld joins a growingteam in McCarthy's newly opened San Joseoffice.

McCarthy, California's largest contractor, opened itsfifth California office in San Jose on May15. Sandersfeld will play a key role in pursuing projectsand meeting the evolving needs of clients in the region, with afocus on commercial, high-technology, healthcare, research anddevelopment, industrial, laboratory, corporate office, parkingstructure, educational, and governmental facilities. He will alsospearhead McCarthy's “Heart Hats” community involvement program inthe region, which organizes employee volunteerism and other formsof monetary and in-kind support to a variety of need-based causesin the community.


Sandersfeld brings more than 10 years of business developmentand marketing experience in the construction and building materialsindustries. Sandersfeld is actively involved in the Silicon ValleyChapters of many industry organizations, including NAIOP,CoreNet Global, Urban Land Institute, RECON, SPUR andnon-profit organizations such as the Boy Scouts ofAmerica and Rebuilding Together.Sandersfeld earned two B.S. degrees from Iowa StateUniversity.
