ORLANDO—Veteran office broker John Gilbert has signed on as JLL's managing director in Orlando. He comes to the firm from CBRE, where he served as senior vice president in the Orlando market.
In his new role, Gilbert will focus on growing the firm's office agency leasing practice in the region. JLL handles leasing for iconic Orlando buildings like the SunTrust Center.
“As one of Orlando's top agency brokers, John is highly respected in the real estate field for his outstanding reputation, integrity and strong client relationships,” says Doug Irmscher, Florida market director for JLL. “He is an excellent addition to our team in the Orlando market and will fit well within our collaborative culture at JLL.”
Gilbert has worked in Orlando's commercial real estate market for over 20 years. During that time, he has inked more than 650 sale and lease transactions worth over $590 million. He represents institutional and private owners, as well as investors.
With a track record like that—along with strong knowledge in the Orlando office market and long-standing relationships—JLL has big expectations from Gilbert. Indeed, the firm expects him to help drive the firm's continued growth in Orlando's office market.
“John is a game changer for JLL's leasing platform in Central Florida,” says Chris Butler, managing director for JLL in Central Florida. “His senior experience working in the commercial real estate industry will help accelerate our growth regionally and strengthen our ability to capture additional market share in the Orlando market.”
Gilbert received the Office Broker of the Year Award in 2007 and 2012 from the Orlando Chapter of NAIOP. He holds a bachelor's of science degree in finance and real estate from Florida State University in Tallahassee.
