A few days ago the Wall Street Journal ran an article“Where Did All the Entry-Level Jobs Go?", and the theme of thearticle focused on employers who are slashing their budgets forhiring entry level professionals and trashing investment intraining programs, resulting in demand for talent that has at leasttwo years of relevant experience.

We are increasingly in a “plug and play” employment marketthat does not accommodate the training of young talent. Forexample, Deloitte Consulting's new hires receive intensivetraining, yet newbies are expected to arrive with communicationskills and business acumen to participate in client meetings fromthe start. Ergo, prior experience.

Hold on and hear this. Early in July we brought on ajunior year undergraduate who interned with us for six weeks. She produced a research report on the Middle East Hospitalitysector that was second to none and provided a complex analysis ofHR data, among many other high-yield projects. Hopefully she'll beback next year for her final internship, and onboard as a full timemember of our team on-or-about Fall '16.
