PHILADELPHIA—Colliers International reports it has formed the Philadelphia Capital Markets Group and has hired a three-person team to run the operation from offices in Center City and Conshohocken, PA.

The new three-person team includes Senior Vice Presidents Kris Wood and John Banas and Associate Director Dean Costalas.

Wood and Banas join the firm from Marcus & Millichap where they both served as senior directors and were responsible for securing commercial debt and equity financing for multifamily, office, retail, seniors housing and hospitality properties. Wood and Banas have considerable experience in the origination and placement of debt, mezzanine debt and JV equity, closing more than $2 billion and $1 billion respectively in transactions, Colliers officials state.

Costalas has experience in providing debt and/or equity financing using originators including commercial banks, agencies, CMBS, private equity, mezzanine/bridge lenders, life insurance companies, pension funds and MREITs. His prior experience includes proprietary derivatives trader on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

“We have long sought out a Capital Markets Group to complement our brokerage services,” says Douglas Sayer, president and CEO of Colliers International's Philadelphia headquarters. “By offering this specialized service to our clients, we will provide real estate owners, developers, advisors, lenders and investors with innovative financing solutions and a competitive advantage in the capital marketplace.”
