MIAMI—Swire Properties, the company behind the billion-dollar Brickell City Centre mixed-use development in Downtown Miami, has a new numbers cruncher. The firm has promoted Linda Chu as CFO.

Chu formerly served as head of finance for Swire Hotels. She will move from Hong Kong to South Florida to oversee fiscal functions and performance of Swire Properties, including Miami's largest mixed-use urban development in the heart of Brickell.

“Linda joins the Miami team at a key time in the rise of Brickell City Centre,” says Stephen Owens, president of Swire. “Her track record in overseeing the financial side of large projects will be invaluable.”

Chu brings over 14 years of finance, accounting, tax, compliance and regulatory experience in the fields of real estate, hospitality and leisure to her new position..  Before joining Swire Hotels in 2013, Chu held senior-level positions at Tishman Speyer in London and Shanghai and at PricewaterhouseCoopers in London.

Swire signed Saks Fifth Avenue as the anchor tenant of Brickell City Centre's shopping center last month. Meanwhile, the first condominium tower is almost 70% sold, and the second one is in the pipeline.

The $20-million Climate Ribbon is being assembled, and next year EAST, Swire's first hotel in the United States, will open its doors. At 9.1 acres, Brickell City Centre is set to make a massive impact on Downtown Miami's commercial real estate landscape.
