SAN FRANCISCO—Uber Technologies, Inc. hassigned a long-term lease for 77,600 square feet at theMonadnock Building in downtown San Francisco.

The deal was disclosed today by John Barganski,senior vice president of office leasing for the Western Region ofBrookfield Property Partners, the building'sowner.
Located at 685 Market Street, Uber will occupy four floors of the10-story, 205,000 square foot building. While the Monadnock Building has a rich history, having been builtin 1907 by celebrated architect Frederick Meyer,it has been completely updated with the latest in technologies andinfrastructure. Sustainability is a priority, with thebuilding earning LEED EB Gold status in2010.
The building - close in proximity to Uber's other San Franciscooffices - provides a strategic location with immediate access toBART and MUNI as well as an easywalk to Union Square. The space is virtually move-in ready,allowing for an easy and efficient occupancy. This latestexpansion of Uber's San Francisco offices is expected to be readyfor employees by the end of the fourth quarter of 2014.
Monadnock is a native American term for a 'mountain that standsabove the surrounding area.' The Beaux-Artsbuilding was under construction prior to the 1906earthquake. It survived the earthquake and the fire, and hasbeen cited as one of the finest edifices in the City.
