LAUREL, MD—Sotherly Hotels has entered into a 10-year franchise agreement with Hilton Worldwide to rebrand the Holiday Inn Hotel Laurel West to the DoubleTree by Hilton Laurel.
The 207-room hotel will convert to the DoubleTree flag by October 2015 following renovations to the property at 15101 Sweitzer Lane, according to the Baltimore Business Journal.
"We are pleased to partner with Hilton Worldwide in converting another hotel in our portfolio to its DoubleTree by Hilton brand," Sotherly Hotels CEO Drew Sims states. "We believe we have identified another market opportunity where a hotel can benefit from an upbranding and superior reservation system thereby driving growth over historic performance and creating additional value for our shareholders."
Sotherly Hotels is based in Williamsburg, VA and owns 12 hotels in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions. See story in the Baltimore Business Journal.
