LOS ANGELES—Fameco Real Estate co-founder Brandon Famous, with a career total of more than 16 million square feet of retail leases, now will lead CBRE Group's retail occupier advisory & transaction services practice in the Americas. Based in Philadelphia, Famous has been an EVP at CBRE since 2013, when Fameco was acquired by the Los Angeles-based services firm.

Famous will be responsible for the retail occupier practice's business operations, business development, financial performance and recruitment in the US, Canada and Latin America. He'll report to Anthony Buono, Americas executive managing director for retail services, who calls Famous “an industry icon. His appointment demonstrates our continued interest in putting the best talent in leadership roles.”

With a client list that includes Chipotle, Starbucks, the Home Depot and Nordstrom Rack, Famous has completed more than 1,700 retail transactions. The practice he will now oversee numbers more than 450 brokers and advises 1,000 retailers on their real estate needs across the Americas.

CBRE bolstered its retail platform with its January acquisition of Dallas-based United Commercial Realty, which specializes in retail services. It manages retail properties for institutional investors nationally and provides brokerage services for them and for leading retailers across Texas and other markets.
