MIAMI—Jeremy S. Larkin and Edward L. Schmidt, who have held those titles until now, were promoted to the newly created roles of co-chairmen, board members and constitute the company's executive committee. After driving business to NAI Miami for decades, the duo will focus on revenue production and strategic growth initiatives.
“Our industry is changing rapidly,” says Nostrand. “We are going to stay at its forefront to deliver the best results to our clients and the best place to work for our brokers and employees.”
Nostrand has over 35 years of experience in commercial real estate operations, leasing, sales, management, development and finance. He is the third generation in his family specializing in the industry.
“Stephen's impressive track record makes him a natural choice for this position,” says Schmidt. “We are extremely excited to have Stephen become an integral part of our organization. He is well respected in the commercial real estate industry and will bring a great deal of experience, drive and focus to the company.”
Nostrand most recently served as senior vice presidnet at Avison Young, where he led the client service platforms and 35 brokers in three offices across South Florida. Annual revenues exceeded $400 million.
“After our most recent strategic plan review, we were positioned to move growth forward by bringing in a seasoned professional to run the company's operations so Ed and I can devote full time to client facing activities,” Larkin says. “Steve is the most qualified person in South Florida to do that. We were fortunate he was available and interested.”
Nostrand also serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Miami's Master's Program for Real Estate Development and Urbanism. He has taught since 2004 and was voted Professor of the Year in 2011.
