What do Steve Jobs, Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg all have in common?

Well, all three amassed fortunes beyond anyone's dreams and are idolized for their extraordinary accomplishments that have helped redefine our world. Oh, by the way, all three also quit their college educations never to return.

Today young fledging university students who grew-up with the Internet and with easy and cheap access to powerful and affordable technology, not to mention readily available capital, are tempted to stake a claim to become the next Steve Jobs and quit their formal education. In a recent article, the Wall Street Journal observed that these Zuckerberg disciples wear a badge of honor.

Alas, while I applaud their spirit, there are very few real success stories among this new breed of entrepreneur, and would be well served to playout their educations and learn how to run a company beyond writing code for the next 99 cent app.
