CHICAGO—Co-developers Fifield Cos. and Carroll Properties opened E2, a luxury apartment project in Evanston, earlier this year to bring to the suburbs the type of amenity-rich rental properties increasingly popular downtown. And the companies just took another step in that process.
The boutique fitness studio exhale Evanston will open its second Chicago area location at the 356-unit project, located at 1890 Maple Ave., in December 2015. Founded in 2002, exhale provides mind body fitness classes, a spa and healing therapies.
“We are so proud to join forces with exhale and bring yet another luxury amenity to E2 for residents to enjoy,” says Randy Fifield, vice chairman of Fifield. “As a premiere boutique fitness studio, exhale is an ideal partner, complementing E2 as a true lifestyle building. With amenities like exhale, E2 continues to demonstrate why the luxury rental lifestyle has become the preferred option for today's urban dweller.”
The studio will occupy about 2,500 square feet of the project's retail space. It will feature a large studio, as well as women's and men's changing rooms with showers and a locker area for convenience. E2 residents will have direct access to exhale without having to go outside.
“The addition of exhale at E2 is just one more step toward our larger goal of providing local residents the best of what a sophisticated urban rental lifestyle has to offer, while also contributing to the Evanston community as a whole,” adds Fifield.
E2 consists of two buildings, a 16-story tower at 1881 Oak Ave. and a 14-story tower on Maple Ave. A four-story structure with three floors of parking and an amenity deck connects the buildings. At the base of E2 is 4,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space.
Apartment tower residences range from 500 to 1,400 square feet and offer studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom layouts. The property also has 12 rental townhomes that range in size from 1,750 to 1,875 square feet and feature three bedrooms, 2½ baths and a third-floor deck.
