SADDLE RIVER, NJ—An office expansion design project for MedAssets, a healthcare performance improvement company, reflects stepped-up demand for tenant fit-out work at Poskanzer Skott Architects – a shift that Barry Poskanzer, AIA, sees as a positive indicator of regional business growth.

With the 15,000-square-foot addition to MedAssets regional office at Saddle River Executive Park in Saddle River, designed by PSA, the firm now occupies the entire 100,000-square-foot Boroline Road property.

Poskanzer says the MedAssets project reflects a growing trend. “We are seeing an 'opening up' of tenant work in a market that has been sluggish for some time,” he says. “Demand is up significantly, particularly in the office and industrial sectors, and we believe this is a tangible sign of the strengthening economy.”

MedAssets is focused on helping providers realize financial and operational gains so that they can sustainably serve the needs of their community.

“We have added several clients recently to our Revenue Cycle outsourcing business, with more new business in the pipeline,” says MedAssets' Jimmy Lynch, vice president of revenue cycle services operations. “In turn, we are expanding our footprint and acquiring additional space at our Saddle River facility. We wanted to both accommodate our immediate needs and position our Saddle River location for future growth as well.”

PSA, which designed MedAssets' initial space at Saddle River Executive Park as architect of record for property owner RA Associates, has continued to work directly with MedAssets over the past several years on various design projects. The Saddle River expansion incorporates dozens of additional work stations to accommodate the regional center's more than 400 employees.

“Our goal was to maximize the space while maintaining a comfortable working environment for our employees,” Lynch says. “The PSA team has been fantastic. They are highly responsive and have created a design that works perfectly for our needs.”
