PHILADELPHIA, PA — Marcus & Millichap named John Wilson a senior associate and director of the firm's National Retail Group in the Philadelphia office, according to Brenton Baskin, regional manager of the office. Pennsylvania-native Wilson has worked in the commercial real estate industry since 2001.

“The Philadelphia office is lucky to have John as he brings experience with sophisticated clients in large scale retail transactions within the area,” says Baskin. “His tenure and leadership within the business are a welcomed addition.”

In his new role, Wilson focuses on investment sales of retail properties in Philadelphia and central Pennsylvania markets. While he will concentrate on Pennsylvania retail properties, Wilson has experience across the east coast with many different types of commercial real estate. He leads a team including David Becattini and Jillian Falkoff and is looking forward to continued growth.

Marcus & Millichap's platforms of cross-platform collaboration and extensive training for junior agents have always really impressed me,” says Wilson. “It's been an exciting move from leasing to investment sales, especially within an office that is so well run.”

Before joining Marcus & Millichap, Wilson founded Cushman & Wakefield's Retail Services Group in the Philadelphia Region in 2006. He worked with Cushman & Wakefield for nearly nine years, notably bringing high-end retail tenants such as Ralph Lauren, Longchamp, and The North Face from New York and Europe to Center City Philadelphia, King of Prussia, and the Cherry Hill, NJ markets. Wilson also represented both landlords and tenants in a full spectrum of commercial transactions over a five year period with Coldwell Banker Commercial, Bennett Williams. When he left the firm in 2006, his commission revenue was ranked seventh out of 41 brokers in the office.

Wilson studied business administration at Penn State University and is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers.
