PORTLAND—Food distributor KeHE Distributors has leased a 383,040 square feet building at PDX Logistics Center I.

Frederick Regnery, principal with Colliers International, Chicago, represented KeHE in the deal. Capstone Partners LLC, with partner PCCP, LLC, is the developer of this two-phase 848,400-square-foot, state-of-the-art logistics park. Capstone was represented by leasing agents Jerry Matson, and Paul Breuer of Colliers' Portland office.

The lessee provides natural and organic, specialty, and fresh products to natural food stores, chain grocery stores, independent grocery stores and other specialty product retailers throughout North America. KeHE is an employee-owned company with over 4,000 employee-owners in the U.S. and Canada.  

“KeHE is rapidly expanding in the Portland area and needed a new, state-of-the-art distribution facility to accommodate that growth,” said Regnery. “After an extensive regional search, PDX Logistics Center 1 was selected.  Since the building was chosen during the construction phase, KeHE was able to customize the building to most efficiently support their customers and create a productive environment for their employees.”

PDX Logistics Center I consists of two spec buildings within the Portland International Center, owned by the Port of Portland and adjacent to Portland International Airport. Building 1, leased by KeHE Distributors, is a brand new, 383,040-square-foot, 32-foot clear height facility.  Building two is fully leased. Both buildings incorporate state-of-the-art features including super flat floors, early suppression fast response sprinklers, very deep truck courts, abundant trailer storage, and energy efficient features including T-5 lighting and TPO roof system.

The 26-acre property is being leased from the Port of Portland on a long term, 50-year, pre-paid ground lease. "Attracting new employers to create local jobs and increase our tax base first requires a place for them to locate and grow," said Bill Wyatt, executive director of the Port of Portland, in a previously issued press release from Capstone Partners LLC. "This lease and the forthcoming development at Portland International Center is a significant bellwether for economic development and prosperity in this region."
