LOS ANGELES—The Bascom Group has partnered with the I Have a Dream Foundation-Los Angeles to support youth in underprivileged schools, and has pledged to match up to $25,000 dollar-for-dollar in donations through RealShare Apartments to the charity. The Bascom Group announced the fundraising drive at the RealShare Apartments conference last week, and in addition to the Bascom Group's matched donation, RealShare Apartments also donated $5 from every conference ticket to the charity.

David Kim, managing partner at the Bascom Group, is on the board at the organization. “We are blessed to have them as part of the foundation. David Kim joining the board has been a huge momentum for us,” Emily Knight, development manager at the I Have a Dream Foundation, tells GlobeSt.com. “He brought us to RealShare to get more exposure, and what better way to get exposure than to be at an event with such a captive audience. On top of that, he agreed to match the donations that we received dollar-for-dollar up to $25,000, and that is just phenomenal.”

I Have A Dream begins working with students in early elementary school, and sees them through to college to ensure that they maintain a bright future. “We don't cherry pick our students,” Janell Lewis, program manager at the I Have a Dream Foundation-Los Angeles, tells GlobeSt.com. “We accept all students using a whole child approach,” which she explains accounts for both educational and developmental and behavioral support. In Los Angeles, the charity specifically focuses on elementary school campuses in Boyle Heights, Watts and Inglewood.

I Have a Dream is still accepting donations on behalf of RealShare. To pledge your support, please contact ihadla.org.
