NEW YORK CITY—The Singer & Bassuk Organization has brought on Robert Lawrence as executive managing director. He joins the firm after serving as senior managing director and co-head of origination at Guggenheim Commercial Real Estate Finance, where he led and managed the origination platform for both CMBS and affiliated life companies.

Previously, Lawrence was managing director and head of the Securitized Products Group-Asia with JP Morgan Securities Japan Co. Earlier, he was managing director with JP Morgan Chase & Co. here, and before that was a senior managing director and co-head of origination-global CMBS with Bear Stearns & Co.

Considered a prolific loan originator, Lawrence has been responsible for direct originations valued at more than $10 billion. He also has been materially involved in additional transactions valued at more than $50 billion.

Lawrence has been an active member of the Young Presidents' Organization, the Urban Land Institute, and the Real Estate Capital Advisory Committee of The Real Estate Roundtable. He holds a Master of Science degree in Real Estate Investment and Development from the Real Estate Institute at New York University [Schack Institute] and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Vermont.
