LOS ANGELES—“At SharpLine, we value and strive to maintain good professional relationships within the industry.” That is according to Los Angeles-based Barbara Armendariz, founder and president of SharpLine Commercial Partners. “With that said, we have been setting up meetings with property owners, tenants, developers and brokers to cultivate and nurture them. We believe building and maintaining relationships are the key to a successful business practice and RECon helps strengthen existing relationships and facilitates building new ones as well.”

The meetings at the ICSC RECon event, she said, will be centered around discussing opportunities available now as well as in the near future. “We will also focus on being creative resources from a space repurposing or redevelopment standpoint.”

Armendariz tells GlobeSt.com that landlords often want to see what the tenant and its representation can bring to the table. “Retailers appreciate seeing a comprehensive plan for a future location that meets their specific site needs. Developers value the opportunity to create a new pad in front of shopping center, and brokers enjoy discussing new transactions on which to collaborate.”

She also explains that the RECon event is always good to reset and readjust strategy related to the industry. “Learning about new concepts, ideas, and trends – especially those that are just emerging – is all valuable as an advisor.  I believe this year we will see more about the blending of technology and bricks-and-mortar and how retailers are streamlining their marketing strategies to be a better fit with how consumers want to shape their buying experience.”
