NEW YORK CITY—David A. Simon is joining B6 Real Estate Advisors as the firm’s executive managing director of New Jersey operations and as a partner of the firm.

His responsibilities will include strategic and financial management, recruitment and training, business development and establishing overall standards and best practices.

Simon’s most recent position was as the executive managing director, market leader, New Jersey region, for Colliers International.

“It is a great opportunity to join Paul and the talented team at B6 Real Estate Advisors,” says Simon. “I value the discipline and collaboration that the firm embraces as core principles. In addition, it offers our professionals the perfect blend of entrepreneurialism and structure.”

Simon already knows a bit about the culture and values of B6. Is Massey orchestrating an ensemble with some well-known talent/? It could be a familiar tune for many of the players. Simon was the executive managing director at Massey Knakal Realty Services, where he also led that firm’s New Jersey operations.

He brings over three decades of experience in management, operational and financial performance, recruiting and brokerage. Simon also served as managing principal for the New Jersey office of Cassidy Turley and COO for Colliers Houston & Co. Throughout his career, Simon has completed hundreds of transactions representing institutional and local tenants and owners.

In joining B6, short for “Building by Building, Block by Block,” Simon will be reuniting not only with Massey but also Massey Knakal colleagues, COO Neil Heilberg and CFO Michael Wlody—Massey’s founding partners at the July 1 launch of the firm.

B6 is continuing to expand as Massey remains optimistic about the future of brokerages. Headquartered in New York City at 1040 Sixth Ave., B6 plans to open offices in New Jersey, Brooklyn and Queens all within its first year.

“I am looking forward to combining my prior experience with my passion for growing business operations,” says Simon.

Heilberg describes Simon as a pivotal addition to the firm.”We are building a next-generation brokerage firm in investment sales and capital advisory services and will greatly benefit from David’s extensive experience, strategic insights and relationships as well as his commitment to our technology-forward platform,” says Heilberg.

“David is a leader and visionary. His experience, coupled with his respect in the industry, integrity and the passion he brings each day is unmatched,” says Massey. “We are excited to join forces with David and know his reputation for excellence will drive our New Jersey operations.”

Simon received his BS in communications from Boston University and an MS in real estate from New York University. He is active in the Garden State real estate community and has served as a past president of the New Jersey chapter of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors and past president of the Industrial & Office Real Estate Brokers Association.
