SANTA ANA, CA-The county's office market continues to heat up, as a 166,616-sf Santa Ana office complex has been sold for $13.5 million. It is the second large transaction to take place within Orange County in the past week.

NEWPORT BEACH, CA-The joint venture between Nationwide Health Properties Inc. and JER Partners acquires 39 assisted living campuses that are operated by Alterra Healthcare Corp. The properties, which are scattered throughout 10 states, have an occupancy level of 84%.

STANTON, CA-The company, Autobacs Seven Co. Ltd., plans to open its first North American location in Stanton by the end of this summer. The new shop is rising at the site of a former movie theater, which is being revamped as part of a $4.5-million reconstruction project.

COSTA MESA, CA-The locally-based developer has snapped up the Mission Oaks Plaza in Camarillo. Anchored by Vons and Sav-on Drugs, the 93,545-sf shopping center is 100% leased.

IRVINE, CA-The new office is the general contractor's second location to open in Southern California. Based in San Diego, the company also has offices in Palm Springs, Las Vegas and Phoenix.

SOUTH ORANGE COUNTY, CA-Although the overall vacancy level of the South Orange County office market is still on the rise, its rate of increase has begun to slow, according to a new report on the region.

RIVERSIDE, CA-The buyer has paid $1.5 million for the property, which is located at Palm Avenue in Riverside. With its steady rise in population and relatively low unemployment rates, Riverside continues to boast a large base of multifamily tenants.

IRVINE, CA-The company's owner, Philip Quaranta, has purchased a 2.2-acre parcel here and plans to build a corporate headquarters building for R&B Gear on the site. Completion of the 33,216-sf facility is slated for October 2002.
