WASHINGTON, DC-The famed Watergate Hotel now belongs to Monument Realty, as the local real estate company closes on the acquisition of the 251-room luxury property from advisees of New York's Blackstone Real Estate Advisors. The deal is valued at a reported $55 million.
ARLINGTON, VA-The portfolio of the nation's largest independent hotel management company, Interstate Hotels & Resorts, just got larger with the recent award of a management assignment involving 54 hotels owned by Sunstone Hotel Investors LCC affiliates. The deal is subject to the closing of the Sunstone IPO.
COLUMBIA, MD-The Rouse Co., a leading REIT known in particular for its upscale retail properties, gets snapped up by Chicago's General Growth Properties Inc. in a deal valued at $12.6 billion. Rouse is owner of such high-end shopping destinations as Boston's Faneuil Hall Marketplace.
