TYSONS CORNER, VA-Greensboro Corporate Center II prepares to turn over four floors to Watt, Tieder, Hoffar & Fitzgerald LLP, as the law firm signs a long-term lease for nearly 71,500 sf at the 210,000-sf office building. The deal paves the way for the firm's relocation from a nearby address.
NORFOLK, VA-The 140,000-sf industrial and office building at 835 Philpotts Rd. finds a new owner after spending years on the market. Glopar Associates Ltd. hands over ownership of the three-decade-old property to Monticello Enterprises LLC in exchange for $1.5 million.
ARLINGTON, VA-The WestLee, a condominium property that will offer 128 residences, moves closer toward realization as developer Silverwood Homes gets started on construction. The multifamily property will feature 8,000 sf of retail space, as well as two levels of above-grade parking.
BALTIMORE-Plans for a new 750-room Hilton Hotel near the Baltimore Convention Center move forward with the city's approval of the project's design. RLJ Development and Quadrangle Development Corp. are behind the $200 million project, which is expected to debut in 2007.
LA PLATA, MD-A new shopping center, La Plata Plaza, hits the town of La Plata, sporting a new 58,000-sf Safeway grocery store as its anchor. The 70,000-sf retail property is just beginning; it will be expanded further in the future with a 130,000-sf addition.
NORFOLK, VA-Signing on to occupy 22,300 sf, MMM Design Group commits to relocating its headquarters to the Main Street Tower, a 210,000-sf class A office structure in the financial district. The architecture and engineering firm will join fellow tenants SouthTrust Bank and the US Coast Guard.
BETHESDA, MD-In a deal valued at $123 million, First Potomac Realty Trust brings its purchase of a 14-property, 1.4-million-sf mixed-use portfolio to a close. The price tag includes an existing $78-million debt in the form of a first mortgage loan secured by the entire portfolio.
GREENBELT, MD-Another company signs on for space at Patriot East, a new 84,000-sf office structure currently in the works in the Patriot Business Park at Golden Triangle. Telecommunications consulting company JSI will occupy 19,500 sf at the four-story building.
