WASHINGTON, DC-The 212,500-sf Franklin Tower in the East End gets two new tenants with Anheuser-Busch and Household Financial Group signing leases for 4,258 sf and 5,297 sf of space, respectively. Office space in the 11-year-old structure leases for about $45 to $50 per sf.
SKYESVILLE, MD-The Maryland Board of Public Works gives the go ahead on a $20-million construction contract for the Academic and Administrative Complex of the Public Safety Training Center. The project entails the construction and renovation of about 143,000-sf of space.
WASHINGTON, DC-Marriott signs on to manage two new hotels in China. Both properties will carry Marriott's Renaissance Flag and are expected to open in the last quarter of 2002, and in 2004, respectively.
HAGERSTOWN, MD-TruServ puts its 824,000-sf distribution facility in Hunter's Green Business Center up for sale only three years after opening the center. The single-story structure and the 70.25-acre parcel on which it sits have an aggregate assessed value of nearly $38 million.
SUNRISE, FL-New Jersey's Victory Investment Group buys the 178,800 sf, 9.6-acre former headquarters and distribution center in Broward County's Sawgrass International Corporate Park for $39 per sf.
HAGERSTOWN, MD-The Centre at Hagerstown, a 327,000-sf, two-year-old shopping mall, sells to Washington Real Estate Investment Trust in a $41.7-million cash deal. The property offers more than 30 stores and is 98% leased.
WASHINGTON, DC-A $10-million cash infusion from Chevy Chase Bank, Adams National Bank and Riggs Bank assures progress on the City Museum, which is to be housed in the Carnegie Library after a $30-million renovation.
