PHOENIX-A private investment group from California set a per-unit sales record this year when they picked up the Andover Square apartments, an 80-unit, class A complex in the Camelback Corridor for $9.9 million. It's the highest price paid since 2001.

LAKE HAVASU, AZ-A court-ordered bankruptcy settlement has forced the sale of 6.5 acres at Lake Havasu's main tourist draw. The land, part of the London Bridge Resort's English Village retail complex, went at auction to an undisclosed Phoenix investor.

PHOENIX-A Phoenix couple who had been searching for the perfect investment vehicle found it in not one, but two Valley properties. Both deals closed on the same day, giving the new owners 46 units with upside potential.

SCOTTSDALE, AZ-Furst Properties has no qualms about adding another 143,144 sf despite the Valley's glut of office space. The developer says the office complex's surefire draw is a location in the Valley's fastest growing region.

PHOENIX-Weitz Co.'s Southwest Division hires nine employees in the latest round. On board is a project superintendent, pre-construction manager, project manager, four project engineers, project accountant and receptionist.

PHOENIX-The Braeside Group has sold two and has a third under contract. The latest to sell is the 92-unit La Paz at 6201 N. 16th St., bought by a Fountain Hills investor who owns another 136 units in the neighborhood.

SUN CITY WEST, AZ-The Heritage Tradition is adding 45,000 sf or 41 assisted-living apartments to the $28.6-million development. The project is the second addition to the 11.1-acre community in recent years.

PHOENIX-The Southwest Valley is today's hotspot, with one out of every four housing starts responsible for construction starts on four power centers and a regional mall. In the Southeast Valley, two power centers and a regional mall are planned.
