CASA GRANDE, AZ-Price Cos. of Winnipeg will be pumping some badly needed jobs into the economy of a city about 40 miles south of Phoenix. The firm has bought a 130,000-sf plant shuttered 18 months ago, 20 acres and some machinery.

PHOENIX-Hedlund Fabrics closes its doors after three decades, sparking a sale to an area couple tempted by the availability of the downtown location. The buyer will use 1710 E. Washington St. as a storage hub for convention and trade exhibits.

PHOENIX-A seasoned pro at revitalization projects in San Francisco and LA has acquired its first Phoenix property for a similar play. The 34-unit Town Apartment Community attracted four offers within a month of hitting the market.

MESA, AZ-The Phoenix buyer sells a retail center in his homeport for a 19,800-sf one in Mesa. The acquired center is fully occupied by tenants with long-term, triple net leases. The acquisition satisfies a 1031 Exchange.

PHOENIX-RREEF is the seller and a Tempe investment is the buyer of the West Phoenix properties, both single-tenant industrial buildings. Though tied in name, the assets were acquired with individual debt in the event of a future sale.

PHOENIX-More than 2.97 million sf were absorbed last year, with 1.5 million sf compliments of Target Corp. with its West Valley project. Other sectors weren't so lucky, but overall vacancy is 9.9%, up just 0.2% from the previous year.

PHOENIX-Sunstate Builders buys 7.79 acres for six build-to-suit, single-tenant buildings on the land in the Northwest Airpark. At least three sites will have airplane taxiway access at the Deer Valley Airport.

TEMPE, AZ-Champion Wire and Cable, a Westbury, NY wholesaler, is planning a move in April to Broadway Industrial Park for double the area and gain yard storage space for the operation. The 63-month lease is valued at $735,000.
